Admissions Requirements and Procedures
A prospective student for our certification programs must:
- Complete an admissions interview and a tour of the facility.
- Complete an application and submit the application fee.
- Be a high school graduate, or have passed a high school equivalency exam. Applicants must submit a high school diploma or transcript specifying date of graduation, GED copy, and/or transcripts from postsecondary institutions attended*
- Submit the completed and signed physician’s form provided by the school.
*(The requirement for a high school transcript or diploma may be waived if the applicant can furnish proof of: a) an associate’s or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college, or b) a college transcript.)
Please Note: The Georgia State Board of Cosmetology requires a copy of a high school diploma, a high school transcript or GED as acceptable documents for the exam application. Correspondence school diplomas are not accepted.

Massage Certification Program: transfer credit for courses taken at other institutions is not accepted.
Esthetician Certification Program: up to 200 hours earned at accredited esthetics institutions and up to 75 hours earned at accredited cosmetology institutions will be considered for transfer on an individual basis. Students must demonstrate satisfactory proficiency on selected theory and clinical technical skills.
Atlanta School of Massage does not guarantee transferability of credits to any other college, university or institution and it should not be assumed that any course or programs can be transferred to another institution. Any decision on the comparability and applicability of credit or clock hours and whether they may be accepted is the decision of the receiving institution.
