Our Accredited School

Named a 2004 School of Distinction by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT), Atlanta School of Massage has been an international leader among massage therapist schools for over 30 years. Of the many massage therapist schools in Georgia, we earned the honor of being the first authorized by the U.S. Department of Education to offer Title IV funding. We were also the first among massage therapist schools in Georgia to receive accreditation by the ACCSCT. After 30 years we are still privately owned and operated and have maintained a caring family atmosphere. We are dedicated to the advancement of the field of Massage Therapy as demonstrated by our research with the Neurology Department at Emory University on the beneficial effects of Neuromuscular Therapy on patients with Parkinson's disease.

Our Teachers

Since 1980, our faculty and staff members have participated in a shared mission to provide superior massage therapy education in a supportive environment. We have a long-standing, reliable, proven, and consistent commitment to excellence. Our faculty is comprised of highly skilled, experienced professionals who are committed to the success of their students. The massage instructors, all certified practicing massage therapists, undergo a rigorous teacher-training program and on-going refresher courses. There is no substitute for experience. We are one of the few massage therapist schools in the nation that invests in the expertise provided by a full-time teaching body. Many of our instructors have offered their expert guidance to our students for more than a decade.

Our Student Body

Our students represent diversity in age, nationality, and career backgrounds. The majority of students are from Georgia and the Southeast, but many other states and foreign countries are represented. They range in age from 18 to 69, with most between 24 and 45. A majority has had some college experience, many with degrees and successful professional careers.

Our students tell us that whether they are searching for their first career or they are planning a major career change, their reasons are often similar: they feel massage is a profession where they can touch other people's lives in a meaningful way. Massage therapy can offer flexibility and creativity, allowing each person to enjoy success in their own way.

Our instructors and staff are skilled and compassionate professionals. They are concerned with the growth and development of each and every individual student. Our graduates often say that in coming to our school they have found an extended family.
